Alma Mae Lister, 65, born March 20, 1958, went to be with Our Heavenly Father, April 20, 2023 at home in Junction City, Kansas. She passed away with natural causes. She was the daughter of Virgil Eldon & Veletta Andrella (Lister) Lister.
She had attended Emmett, Silver Lake and Grant Schools and then in 1967 she lived in Bennington, Kansas and attended school there. She attended Brown Mackie College and worked at various offices and cities.
Alma enjoyed writing poems, taking pictures, taking walks, loved sports and KU. How she could make a person smile on a bad moment they were having.
Alma leaves behind her children; Tasha Benton (4 kids), James Lister (1 kid), Marquita Lister Hannan (5 kids) and Jeremiah Medlock (4 kids). Her siblings are Virgil Allen (Patricia) (4 kids), Jane Warren (Hunter) (2 kids) and Jessie Mabrey (Ronnie) (1 kid), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Virgil & Veletta (Lister) Lister, a sister Stella Marie Lister in 1960 and unknown sibling in 1967, a niece Melissa Sue Daniel, grandparents Jesse Lister, Grace Carmichael Lister Dodds, Chester Arthur and Estelle “Belle” Legan Lister.
Alma was cremated, her ashes will be buried with many of her other relatives at Keene Cemetery in Wabaunsee County, Kansas. It will be a graveside service on May 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
