The National Weather Service said rain and thunderstorms will be the norm into Friday afternoon for the area before temperatures begin to warm back into the 60s and 70s by early next week. A few strong to marginally severe thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening across central and east-central Kansas that could produce large hail.
