The ribbon cutting was held for a new shelter in Fifth Street Park in Junction City Thursday afternoon.
The Quality Play for All project received help from multiple organizations, including the City of Junction City, Hutton Construction, students from Kansas State University’s chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, USD 475 Career and Technical Education Students, Kaw Valley Engineering and Foley Equipment.
Quality Play for All spokesman Kendall Schoenrock said the shelter is located in between the playground equipment and the basketball court in the park. "This is really an awesome joint collaboration.
The Geary Community Healthcare Foundation has provided $4,184 to Quality Play for All for future improvements in the park.
