Junction City Commissioners dealt with a number of items Tuesday night.
--ATA Bus submitted a budget request calling for a $122,000 increase in 2027. The funds would help offset budget cuts by Geary County and USD 475. No action was taken by the commission.
--The C.L. Hoover Opera House does not plan to ask the City for a budget increase this year.
--Juneteenth will be observed in Junction City on Saturday June 13 in Heritage Park from from 1-8 p.m.
--Fort Riley has discussed reopening Trooper Gate while the City mill and overlay work is under way on Grant Avenue.
--Commissioners approved the JCFD request to purchase a new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Air Compressor System using the city's RFP process for an estimated amount of $90,210.
-- They approved a request to award bid for the Washington Street Bridge Rehab (Rebid) to Reece Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $1,758,206.34. The City's share of the cost was estimated at about $.1.1 million dollars.
