Thanks to efforts of volunteers and Junction City residents contributing their used Christmas trees, quail and rabbits now have a shelter at Sportsman's Acres. The group met on Jan. 29th at 14th & Jackson in Junction City and began hauling the trees.

The trees were hauled to the youth hunt area of Sportsman's Acres and were placed in a windrow designed to provide maximum overhead protection for ground birds and wildlife.

Ray McDonald, Charlie Bogen, Shirley and Gordon Allen, Eric Hiatt, Dan Hammond, Ollie Hunter and Larry George helped haul and place the trees.

The Fish & Game Association has been collecting and recycling Christmas trees in the Junction City area for many years.
