JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — The Junction City Blue Jays baseball rolled by Highland Park 15-0 in three innings in game one and 14-4 in five innings Thursday at Rathert Field.

In game one, a huge first inning put the game in control, giving the Blue Jays a 6-0 start. Pitcher Trevor Laughlin backed up the bats, shutting down Highland Park's offense, striking out seven batters in just three innings, and JCHS eased its way to a three inning run rule win.

In game two, the Scots jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Blue Jays would answer right back, taking a 4-2 lead after the first inning. A 6-4 JC lead after three innings would explode after an eight run fourth, and Jonathan Phillips would shut down the Scots in the fifth to secure yet another run rule shortened victory.

Junction City is now 7-3 on the year with 10 games to go. They will next be in action Tuesday for a road double-header at Topeka Seaman.
