Fort Riley release
As part of celebrating the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army and the 108th birthday of America’s First Division, Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division will hold two free concerts on post this month, and both concerts are open to the public.
Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will perform on Fort Riley’s Artillery Parade Field June 13. Attendees can enter Artillery Parade Field at 5 p.m., with the Lt. Dan Band taking the stage around 7:00.
The 1st Infantry Division’s “Victory Week” culminates June 27 with an evening of entertainment featuring the country duo Maddie & Tae, also on Artillery Parade Field. The 1st Infantry Division Band and country singer Haley Mae Campbell will also perform during the evening. The night will close with a fireworks show starting at 10 p.m.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase each night. There will also be family-friendly activities to enjoy before the performances. Concert goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
Visitors to Fort Riley who don’t have a DoD ID card can apply for a pass online in advance at https://pass.aie.army.mil/Riley/. Visitors can also go to the Visitor Control Center located near the Henry Gate, Exit 301 off I-70. For questions about accessing Fort Riley please call (785) 239-2982.
