Phase one of the Education Building project at 131 West 7th Street for the C.L. Hoover Opera House is nearing completion.
Opera House Co-Director Joe Markley said the building will be ready for the public to view at the end of December.
This project was prompted by the expanding youth education program. Youth from pre-K to 2th grade, and community theater could use the facility. The cost of the project is calculated at $2.5 million, with efforts still working on raising the final $500,000.
The building will also include offices for the Arts Council and Junction City Little Theater plus a studio for the Arts Council.
