MILFORD, Kan. — Several nautical entires found their way into Kansas' largest lake on Saturday, patched together by cardboard and duct tape. Each entry was judged on its appearance, and of course its ability to actually float.
Once each entry was scored on its appearance, they hit the water one by one, testing its buoyancy alone, with one team member inside, and then with all team members.
The Geary County Sheriffs Department entered multiple rafts into the regatta, taking home third place for a two-man boat, but winning the grand prize for a six-man "extreme" class sheriff's boat.
