Men of Lyona United Methodist Church will host their ground hog supper

For the first time in three years the full Ground Hog supper tradition will resume on Feb. 6  when the Men of Lyona United Methodist Church host their annual supper. The doors were closed the past two years for take-away only meals but this year there will be a return to the full event. The Ground Hog supper has been a tradition for 79 years.

The supper will run from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at the church at 1850 Wolf Road in rural Junction City on Feb. 6. Musical entertainment begins at 5 p.m. The meal will include pancakes and waffles, plain and smoked sausage and Lyona's classic homemade ice cream.

The entertainment lineup includes Arnie and Jean Boyd at 5 p.m., AWANA Kids 5:30, Adeline Laughlin 5:45, Diana and Jade Beary at 6 p.m. , North Forty 6:30 and Robin Volkman or Kevin Foerschler at 7 p.m.
