GEARY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 6:30a.m. Thursday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1991 Chevy S10 driven by Terry J. Riley, 21, Melbourne, Florida, was eastbound on Interstate 70 took the Marshall Field exit to Fort Riley. The driver attempted to turn left onto Marshall Drive and the pickup began to spin due to road conditions. The pickup struck a 2021 Jeep Compass driven by Blake L. Frederick, 19, Melbourne, Florida, who was stopped on Marshall Drive waiting to enter Interstate 70 eastbound.
EMS transported a passenger in the Jeep identified as Sarah L. Johnson, 19, Kingston, North Carolina, to Stormont Vail Hospital-Flint HIlls. The drivers were not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
