1st Infantry Division troop numbers were reviewed during the weekly Geary County Commission meeting. Commissioner Keith Ascher passed along information presented by Fort Riley Garrison during a recent Military Affairs Council meeting.
There are approximately 2,400 Big Red One troops deployed, 11,000 currently on post, the Combat Aviation Brigade will return home in August, and there will be a full contingent on post until mid 2025.
