The Rotary Club of Junction City proudly presented its first Charles Volland Rotary Trade Education Scholarship during Junction City High School Senior Awards Night.

Rotarians Susan Jagerson and Keela Andrews had the honor of presenting the $1,000 scholarship to graduating senior Grant Roeser in recognition of his dedication, character, and commitment to continuing his education in the skilled trades.

The scholarship fund was established through generous donations from Rotary Club members to honor the legacy of Charles Volland, a longtime educator, Rotary leader, and dedicated community servant. Volland served as a respected USD 475 music educator and past Assistant District Governor for Rotary International District 5710. Within the Rotary Club, he was widely known as the glue that held the organization together for many years through his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to service above self.

The Charles Volland Rotary Trade Education Scholarship was created to support students pursuing trade and technical education pathways while continuing Volland’s legacy of investing in the future of the community.

“Charles believed deeply in supporting others and strengthening the community through service and opportunity,” said representatives of the Rotary Club. “We are proud to honor his legacy by helping students like Grant pursue their educational and career goals.”

The Rotary Club of Junction City congratulates Grant Roeser on this well-deserved honor and wishes him continued success in the next chapter of his educational journey.
