Junction City Oktoberfest has been scheduled for October 8, from 4:30-midnight, and October 9, from 8:00 a.m.– 6:00 p.m.. This event will occur in downtown Junction City. There will be multiple bands, a Volksmarch, an Art Walk, a Schutzenfest, German food, beverages, and games and activities for children and adults. The nonprofit Junction City Oktoberfest organization is partnering with Junction City Main Street leading in the event.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are being scheduled in 2-hour increments. They need 10 to 15 people to assist with set-up from 8 a.m. to Noon on Friday, Oct 8th and 20 to assist with clean-up on Saturday, October 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
There will be four entrances and eight volunteers are needed for 2-hour shifts manning each entrance for a total of 64 volunteers. Volunteer Entrance times would be Friday, Oct 8th 4-6 p.m., 6-8 p.m., 8-10 p.m. and 10-Midnight. Volunteer Entrance times for Saturday, October 9th, would be 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3-5 p.m..
Volunteers are also needed to assist serving of food and beverage and to assist with running of contests which would be another 50 to 60 opportunities. In all, approximately 200 to 300 volunteers will be needed.
