Junction City Lady Jay tennis players defeated Marysville in three singles matches in the first round of a quadrangular at Washburn Rural on Thursday. Winning in singles play were Abby Ratts, Grace Harris and Avery Jacobsen while the Lady Jays lost to Marysville in doubles play.
In round two Junction City dropped all three matches to Washburn Rural and in round three against Kansas City Christian the Lady Jays lost the top singles and doubles matches, but Stephanie Stanislow and Grace Harris teamed up to win in number two doubles play.
Junction City will compete in the Centennial League varsity tennis tournament on Monday at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka.
