Posted Nov 21, 2020 3:59 PM

Despite a three-month Geary County Historical Museum closure due to COVID-19 beginning in mid-March of this year methods have been developed to serve the public through virtual programming.

Video productions, activity packets and online educational games have been created to reach museum members, homeschool and afterschool families and community members. According to the Historical Society newsletter the activity packets are interactive, at-home educational lessons on various time period in history.

There are videos available about Old Fashioned Games, Old But What Is It and Pioneer Children's Chores. Upcoming videos will include Coming to Kansas and Cowboys and Cowgirls.

Packets can be emailed or picked up at the museum. The packets which are available are Turn of the Century and WWII:Life on the Homefront. Happy Days 1950s will be ready Feb. 3rd.
