Two weeks ago three corrections officers and two inmates at the Geary County Detention Center tested positive for COVID-19. The Sheriff's Department now reports that the results from round three of testing by KDHE at the Detention Center are in and everyone, employees and inmates, tested negative.
A total of 110 people were tested.
Emergency Management noted that there was a plan in place ahead of the initial five positive test results to deal with COVID-19. That plan was implemented successfully with no further spread.
