Junction City, KS — As dusk settles over Junction City and the crisp autumn breeze dances through the streets, the echoes of the past stir once more. Whispers of bygone footsteps, the rhythmic cadence of horse hooves, and the distant hum of trains remind us of the city’s deep and storied past. This October, those echoes will come to life during Junction City Main Street’s second annual Boos & Brews.

Join us on Friday, October 17th, and Friday, October 24th for a captivating haunted history walking tour through downtown Junction City. Guests 18 and older will be guided by costumed actors from the Junction City Little Theater, who bring to life the chilling and mysterious tales that linger in the town’s history. We couldn’t be more grateful for their partnership and theatrical spirit, which makes this event unforgettable each year.

What makes this tour even more enticing? Guests 21+ can indulge in themed cocktails at participating stops, while festive nonalcoholic beverages will also be available for all attendees 18+. This year’s spooky stops include Blu Restaurant and Bar, Highwind Brewing Co., The Spot Karaoke, and D’z Lounge, each offering a special event menu filled with uniquely crafted drinks.

The night begins at the historic C.L. Hoover Opera House, where attendees check in and receive a wristband to indicate drinking status. Costumed guides will lead groups through downtown streets, pausing at chilling landmarks to recount tales of Junction City’s macabre past. Tours depart every 10 minutes from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, ensuring a steady flow of eerie adventures. Dressing up is highly encouraged—add to the festive atmosphere and join the fun!

“We truly believe in the power of history, so we try not to stray too far from the real stories of Junction City’s past,” says JC Main Street Event Coordinator, Makena Krause. “But during this spooky time of year, it’s always fun to lean into the macabre and speculate a little.”

Last year’s Boos & Brews sold out, and Junction City Main Street is hopeful for another year of spooky success. To make the evening even more memorable, this year attendees can purchase a limited-edition collectible event mug—a perfect keepsake from the haunted crawl.
