SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a vehicle theft made an arrest
Just after 5a.m. Tuesday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a gray 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck with a livestock trailer attached that was just stolen from the 7900 NW Hall Road, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted and the stolen vehicle was located crashed near Shawguee Road and Wirt Road in Pottawatomie County. A perimeter was quickly setup and an individual was located nearby.
James R. Brooks, 27, of Topeka, was taken into custody and transported to the Law Enforcement Center for further questioning.
Brooks was arrested, booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of burglary and four different types of theft, according to Christian.

UPDATE: As of 10:15 a.m., Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office says the suspect who led law enforcement officials on a man hunt has been located and is in custody.

POTTAWATOMIE CO. - Just after 8:30 Tuesday, arch 14, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff posted to social media, stating multiple Law Enforcement agencies are searching for a white male, north of St. Marys.
The man was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle and ran from officers near McManus and Wirt Roads. Pott. Co. Sheriff's Office says the man should be considered armed and dangerous.
Residents in the area are encouraged to lock their doors and call 911 if they notice anything suspicious.
At just before 7:45 am, St. Marys Police Department posted to social media asking residents to notify Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office if they notice any suspicious activity or individuals in the area near Shawguee Road northeast of St. Marys.
