You can design a poster about what victory means to you during the Geary County Historical Society sponsored Victory Poster contest April 1st through the 15th. Patsy Johnson, Programs and Education Director for the Society, said this is something important that is being offered for youth and adults. "Right now we think it's really important to recognize what Victory means to us."

You can go to the Historical Society's web site where there is information about World War II Victory Posters and Victory Gardens. Registration forms and contest rules are also available there. Posters will be displayed at the Museum ( 530 ) North Adam throughout May.

There will be three winners, said Johnson. "We want to see all those artists and see what that looks like on paper. "

Johnson noted that Victory means different things to many of us, especially with what is being seen in the war in Ukraine. "I think this is a way for all of us to be united on one topic that we all agree on, that what's happening is wrong. And I think it gives people an outlet to express themselves on what Victory means."

Johnson noted for example, children could do a Victory Poster about recycling or helping save the climate, or protecting people in other countries or at home. "But we just want people to express themselves right now on what that would look like."
