Food trucks and live music will be highlights for the Grub and Grooves event scheduled Thursday evening, July 30 from 5-9 p.m. in the 900 block of North Washington Street.

Craig Bender, Military Affairs Council Director, explained the public  can enjoy the music, food and social distancing will be followed. "We've been talking for awhile about trying to revitalize downtown. "Bender added the final planning session was held this past week. "We've got three food trucks coming in." Denims and Lace will provide the live music from 6 - 8:30 p.m.

Bender said people are being asked to bring their own lawn chairs. "To keep social distancing we'll have tables and chairs there just for eating, but not for hanging out. Food vendors will put x's on the ground in order to help people maintain social distancing, there will be hand washing stations and bottles of sanitizer available, and there will be announcements over the sound system asking those in attendance to practice social distancing.

Bender said organizers are hoping for a good turnout. They want to determine if the concept is good for trying to pursue more events going forward into the future.
