RILEY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 12:30p.m. Wednesday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Kenworth dump truck driven by Cole Story, 25, Wichita, was westbound on Kansas 18 just east of Moore's Lane.
The truck left the roadway to the right. The driver overcorrected back onto the roadway.
The driver was forced to overcorrect again to avoid an unknown eastbound vehicle. The truck left the road to the north, traveled into a ditch, overturned, lost its load, traveled through a fence and into a culvert striking the embankment.
EMS transported Story to Stormont Vail. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
