JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – Geary County Schools USD 475 is pleased to announce that DeAnte’ Battiste, a 2025 Junction City High School graduate, was selected as one of only 15 individuals from throughout the state of Kansas to be a named a Junior Counselor at the 2025 Kansas State High School Activities Association Summer Student Council Leadership Workshop.
The 62nd annual KSHSAA Student Leadership Workshop will take place July 20-25 on the campus of Emporia State University. The workshop provides any high school student the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other student council members, learn about student council issues, and discover their own leadership potential which will help to build a better world in which to live.
While in Emporia, Battiste, who will be attending the University of Kansas in the fall to pursue a degree in computer engineering, will work alongside experienced senior adult counselors to lead the workshop.
