The annual Oktoberfest opened Friday night in downtown Junction City with an estimated turnout in the 6,000 to 8,000 range. Phyllis Fitzgerald and Kari Crump provided photos and Fitzgerald provided the attendance turnout from a coordinator for the event, Justin Hoover.

Oktoberfest and a Volksmarch are scheduled Saturday. The Volksmarch begins at 9 a.m. There will be 5K and 13K options. The Oktoberfest goes from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
