Police Chief Chad Langley has issued a statement saying officers were dispatched to a reported shooting on Tuesday at the intersection of South B Street and Day Street in Herington. The suspect, who has not yet been located, has been identified as Travis Richardson, Abilene, 26, approximately 5'9 and 140 to 150 pounds, with short dark hair with short facial hair.
According to the police chief, Richardson allegedly confronted another person walking at the intersection following a confrontation at a nearby residence. Richardson produced a semi-automatic pistol and fired 14 times at the victim before fleeing the scene.
There were no injuries, although some personal property was damaged by the rounds that were fired.
Richardson is believed to be in a vehicle that he was driving at the time of the shooting. described as a dark blue 2006 Cadillac STS bearing Kansas license plate 514LFGS. The car has larger aftermarket chrome wheels. If you see the car or Richardson call 911 and do not approach him since he is considered armed and dangerous.
