It's National Community Development Week, Junction City.
The City of Junction City announced via social media that thanks to a $300,000 2025 CDBG Commercial Rehabilitation grant awarded to Highwind Brewing Company, the City’s Community Development Department partnered with the Flint Hills Regional Council and Highwind to bring new life to the second floor of their restaurant.
This project will transform an underutilized space into a vibrant event venue—creating more room for weddings, military hail & farewells, corporate events, and community gatherings without disrupting the taproom experience.
This investment supports local job creation, strengthens small business growth, increases downtown foot traffic, and helps attract future development in the community.
