Geary Community Hospital has welcomed Dr. Jason Butler to the Rural Health Clinic.
Butler is a 2004 Junction City High School graduate and is the grandson of former Geary Community Hospital Administrator Gerald Geringer.
Butler earned a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine degree from the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his transitional internship at San Antonio Military Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, TX and family medicine residency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. After residency he was assigned to Irwin Army Community Hospital as a staff physician; progressing to Director of Medical Services. He deployed with the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade to Poland serving as the Battalion Surgeon during Operation Atlantic Resolve.
Butler received an honorable discharge from the Army in July of this year.
