There were 24 new positive COVID-19 cases on the Geary County Health Department daily report on Wednesday, but not all occurred in the past 24 hours. The Department was just notified by the State of several unreported cases. Many of the 24 cases are already in recovery. Only seven of the cases were new since a report that was released on Tuesday.
Charles Martinez, Deputy Health Officer, referred to the State system, saying it was updated. "There were some cases from 14 days ago. So we've had people that have already recovered.
Martinez noted that the issue with the State system, EpiTrax. "It's with different medical treatment facilities reporting to EpiTrax and then them getting the information to us."
There are currently 23 active cases reported by the Health Department with one person hospitalized.
