Library's Summer Reading Program begins Saturday

The Dorothy Bramlage Public Library will begin their 2024 Summer Reading Program on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at the library. 

Library Director Susan Moyer said that this outdoor event will feature two bounce houses, a climbing wall, a DJ, face painting, art tables, and a traveling trunk from the Geary County Historical Society,  JCPD will be there to grill hot dogs donated by Smithfield Foods to go along with chips and drinks.  Popcorn and snow cones will also be served.

City commissioner Al Gordon will also be present at 11:00 a.m. to give out the awards to the winners of the summer reading bookmark contest.

While in attendance families can sign up for the summer reading program, Adventure Begins at Your Library, and for all of the companion activities that will be held from now until the program's end on July 27.   

In case of inclement weather, most of the kickoff party will be moved inside the library.  For more information contact Susan Moyer, 785-238-4311.
