Junction City and Washburn Rural of the Centennial League square off Friday in the winner's bracket semifinal round of the boys Bobcat Invitational at Basehor-Linwood High School. Junction City enters the game 7-1 while the Junior Blues are 5-3.
Blue Jay coach Nick Perez is enjoying the tournament. "I like it. It's unfortunate this is the last year they're going to have it. " Perez likes seeing new teams on the schedule. In the second round consolation bracket Friday Louisburg plays Olathe West and Saint Joseph Central goes against Kansas City Piper. On the winner's bracket side the Blue Jays play Washburn Rural at 4:30 p.m. while Basehor-Linwood matches up against Raytown South. The tournament ends on Saturday.
