GEARY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 4:30a.m. Sunday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Nissan Altima was legally parked on the right shoulder of Interstate 70 Westbound just east of Milford Lake Road. The driver identified as Austin J McIntosh, 20, Topeka, exited the car and walked into the lanes of travel. A westbound 2021 Freightliner semi struck McIntosh as he was walking across the right hand lane.
EMS transported McIntosh to Stormont Vail. The semi driver Jose P. Posada, 49, Clovis, New Mexico, was not injured.
