
After waking to below-freezing temperatures Wednesday in the Flint Hills, the National Weather Service in Topeka is predicting a return to spring is right around the corner.
The NWS is calling for clear, sunny skies well into next week as the mercury begins to rise. After a high in the low- to mid-50s Wednesday, a high of 60 is expected Thursday, rising to the low- to upper-70s through the weekend.
By Monday, a high in the mid-80s is expected, with forecasters calling for the high Tuesday to hit 90.
There is no precipitation in the long-term forecast.
