New JCHS construction moves steadily forward

Students and staff began using  the new Junction City High School in August with some construction still remaining on the facility in select areas. Wrestling rooms, weight room and locker rooms were also opened.

Now USD 475 Chief Operations Officer David Wild noted this past week projects such as the auditorium, drama room. stagecraft area and the main gym come together. "The main gym floor is now curing out and it will be able to receive traffic in another few days. "

The final work remaining under Phase Three of the school construction are the orchestra and multi-purpose rooms plus the fitness rooms. "Which are still seeing some construction in them. Those were late additions to the project. "

The open house and ribbon cutting for the new high school will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9th.
