According to the daily report provided by the Geary County Sheriff's Department, Deputies responded to a pair of car - elk accidents Saturday evening on U.S. 77 near mile marker 166.
In the first case about 7:21 p.m. Sarah Vogt of Riley County was driving north in her Honda Civic when the vehicle struck an elk. No injuries were reported but the car was removed from the scene by Homestead Wrecker.
In the second case about 7:56 p.m. James J. Stevens, Wakefield, was driving north in a Ford Focus when the vehicle struck an elk. No injuries were reported but the car was removed from the scene by Homestead Wrecker.
