RCPD: Suspect used personal info to change direct deposit

RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged identity theft in Manhattan.

Just before 10a.m. Monday, officers filed a report for identity theft in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza. in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

Kansas State Bank reported an unknown suspect used personal information to change a direct deposit. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,730. 

Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
