Geary County Emergency Management

Geary County which is part of the Kansas Region I, is currently accepting public review and comments on the revised Local Hazardous Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The review and comment period is open for the next two weeks. We invite the public who reside in Geary, Riley, Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee, Morris, and Chase Counties to take time and look over the proposed LHMP and make comments.

By having this Plan, it allows local governments to apply for several different Federal Grants, especially those dealing with after disaster mitigation money.
There is also a survey to take after reviewing the Plan.
