Abilene, Kan.- October Evenings at Ease program scheduled for Tuesday, at 7 p.m. central time features guest speaker Emily Smith, a doctoral student at Kansas State University. This program will be held in the Library Auditorium and streamed online.
Emily Smith taught journalism at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, Kansas, for almost 15 years. In April 2017, Pittsburg High School hired a new principal who resigned after student journalists investigated and reported on her falsified credentials. From Emily, "my students taught me what real leadership is as we survived an international news sensation amidst conflict and controversy at home in our school and community."
Continuing with this year's theme, "Making of a Leader," Smith will focus on leadership communications.
