Geary County Emergency Management has issued information noting that a prolonged period of dangerously cold weather is forecast to move in by Friday. Temperatures Saturday through Monday may not even get out of the single digits. More light snow is also forecast to move across the area Thursday night and Friday. Now is the time to prepare for the harsh winter weather and make sure the vulnerable are able to stay warm through this arctic plunge.
