The City of Junction City is excited to announce the appointment of Kim D. Zimmerman as its new City Manager effective January 2, 2025.
Following a nationwide search conducted by Government Professional Solutions, Mr. Zimmerman was selected from a field of 26 candidates. Zimmerman will succeed Allen Dinkel, who retired last July after serving the community for most of the last 10 years.
Kim has 30 years’ experience that includes twenty plus years as an active-duty logistics officer in the U.S. Army. He has also served as City Manager in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, and most recently Chief Administrator for the Borough of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Zimmerman was also the Operations Director, Privatized Military Housing at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. Mr. Zimmerman has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree (Biology) at Clarion University of Pennsylvania and Master of Science Degree (Geography and Regional Planning) at California University of Pennsylvania.
