There were 103 players out for the first day of football practice at Junction City High School. Coach Randall Zimmerman called it a really good first day. "You could tell the kids that were around with us all summer long and lifted and ran, and are in good shape. Zimmerman expects 10-15 more kids to come out for football.
The Blue Jays are practicing for a few days at the old high school campus until the facilities are opened at the new JCHS. The plan is to make the move Aug. 25th.
The Blue Jays will participate in a jamboree in Hays on Friday, Aug. 27th along with Hays and Salina South. There will also be a public scrimmage for the Blue Jays this Saturday at 9 a.m. at Al Simpler Stadium.
