Five new positive COVID-19 cases are reported in Geary County

Geary County Health Department officials have confirmed 5 new positive COVID-19 cases.

Current complete case information was not available but those diagnosed did include a 6 month old, 6 year old, 42, 45 and 58 year old individuals. 

Emergency Management confirmed that 18 of the recent cases diagnosed in Geary County involved people with ties to the Faith Tabernacle Church at 1010 Burke Drive in Junction City.

Garry Berges, Geary County Emergency Management Director, said Monday that anyone who attended the Church between Saturday, Aug. 1 through Saturday, Aug. 8, is at risk for potential exposure and should self-monitor for symptoms 14 days from the date of attendance.

There are currently 26 active cases in the county. There have been two deaths and one person is hospitalized. A total of 124 people have recovered. There are 22 persons under investigation where test results are pending.
