Connie Anne Burt, 78 of Abilene passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was born June 11, 1947 in Abilene, the daughter of Melvin and Wilma (Weishaar) Howard. She graduated Abilene high school with the class of 1965. On October 29, 1966 she was united in marriage to WM “Bill” Burt.

They were married 59 years. Connie was a farm wife and mother. She also was an editor for the Solomon newspaper, member of Solomon USD 393 school board, Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader and Solomon Church Altar Society, Catechism Teacher. Her most rewarding years were spent in the Salina Schools for years as a Para for special needs kids and worked as a beautician.

Connie is survived by her loving husband Bill. Three children: Kristi (Ronnie) Brunner of Abilene; Laura (John) Killen-Wing of Colorado and Kevin Burt of Solomon. Grandchildren: Tony (McKenzie) Tovar of Abilene; Aaron Tovar of Abilene; Chris (Audra) Brunner of Hoisington; Sheri (Tripp) Libby of Maine; Lindsay Burt of Nebraska; Haley (Ty) Ybarra of Colorado and Jack Killen of Colorado. Great-Grandchildren: Chandler, Mallory and Colbie Brunner. Sister-in-laws: Sharon Howard of Hays and June Meitler of Tecumseh. Two nephews, three great nephews and one great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; James and Cecelia Burt; brother Chuck Howard and son-in-law Ken Wing.

The family has chosen cremation. A Graveside Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Abilene. The family suggests memorials be given to Village Manor. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.
