Former Manhattan mayor enters plea for alleged DUI crash into liquor store

MANHATTAN - On Tuesday, Winfried(Wynn) Butler, former mayor of the city of Manhattan, made his first appearance at Manhattan Municipal Court for alleged DUI.

Butler appeared in court with his lawyer. Butler pled not guilty to the charge of driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol; 1st conv; blood/breath .08 or >.

Butler is charged with DUI following an incident on May 8th, when his vehicle entered Candlewood Liquor store.

Butler resigned from his position as mayor on May 9th, following his arrest.

Butler's next court appearance is Wednesday, June 26th at 4:00pm at the Manhattan Municipal Court
