In girls only action on Tuesday night, the Junction City Lady Jays lost 44-27 to the Shawnee Mission West Lady Vikings.
Junction City trailed 11-4 after the first quarter, but the Lady Jays went on a 8-2 run to cut the deficit to 13-12 with under three minutes to go in the first half. Shawnee Mission West then went on their own 10-0 run to close out the half, and take a 23-12 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Lady Vikings kept extending their lead and beat Junction City 44-27.
With the loss, Junction City falls to 1-6 on the season. Next up for the Lady Jays is the Salina Invitational Tournament, where they will play three games in three days.
