Beginning Monday, Aug. 19, the Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a mill and overlay on about 15 miles of U.S. 77 in Geary, Morris, and Dickinson counties.

Resurfacing on U.S. 77 will occur from the U.S. 77/K-209 junction and continue north to 1 mile south of the U.S. 77/I-70 junction. (See attached map.)

Work will also include a small section of shoulder widening on U.S. 77, just south of Lyons Creek bridge.

During construction, a pilot car will be used to direct one-lane of traffic through the work zone at a reduced speed. Drivers should be prepared for a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
