The Geary County Public Works Department will be conducting chip seal operations on county roads beginning Monday, June 23, 2025, and continuing for approximately three (3) weeks, weather permitting. Chip sealing is a preventive maintenance process that helps extend the life of roadways by sealing the surface from water intrusion and improving traction.
Affected roads include:
Humboldt Creek Rd starting from Hwy 177 to Interstate 70
Ascher Rd from Humboldt Creek Rd to Clarks Creek Rd
Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays and reduced speed limits, fresh oil and loose gravel on roadway surfaces, and one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers. Please drive slowly and cautiously in work zones to protect workers and prevent damage to vehicles. Avoid driving or turning abruptly on freshly treated surfaces and follow all posted signage and instruction from traffic control personnel.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve your county roadways. For further information, please contact the Geary County Public Works Department at [email protected].
