Geary County Emergency Management has announced that Troy Livingston, Director of Geary County Zoning and Planning and the Flood Plain Administrator for the county, is the community contact person for questions about flood insurance for areas outside the city limits.
Livingston can be reached by phone at (785) 530-5399 or by email at [email protected]. He may also be visited in his office located on the 2nd Floor of the County Annex building, 139 E. 8th Street, Junction City, KS 66441. Livington can explain how flood insurance works; however, you will need to contact an insurance agent for an actual quote. He can offer advice about coverage and how to find an insurance agent.
Livingston’s office offers information on historical flooding such as site specific past flood locations and high water marks throughout Geary County. If needed, a representative from the County can make site visits to your home or property to review flooding, drainage, and sewer problems. All such services can be coordinated through Livingston’s office by contacting him as noted above.
