Junction City police have reported that they have seen an increase in the number of reports of motor vehicle burglaries since the start of 2022. The map shows the locations where these reports have been made. There is no significant area of concentration and JCPD has had cases across town.
While several arrests have been made, police said that they continue to receive reports. However, in nearly every instance, the victimized vehicle was left unlocked overnight. Take an extra moment when you get home to ensure that you have locked your vehicle. Furthermore, don't leave any valuables visible in your vehicle, and if possible park in a well-lit area.
These efforts combined significantly reduce your chances of falling victim to vehicular burglaries.
