TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas has ranked among the top half of safest states during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While the U.S. is picking up speed in getting COVID-19 vaccinations to Americans, WalletHub.com says it wanted to find which states have been the safest during the COVID-19 pandemic. It said it looked at rates of transmission, positive tests, hospitalizations, deaths and vaccinated population.
According to WalletHub, Kansas ranks as the 14th safest state during the pandemic with a score of 61.05. It said Vermont ranked first with a score of 94.07 and West Virginia ranked last with a score of 24.96.
The study also shows that Kansas has a low COVID-19 death rate, but a low vaccination rate as well.
