RCPD: Driver fled from Christmas Eve crash in Manhattan

RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an injury crash and working to locate the driver.

Just after 7p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 2100 block of Candlewood Dr. in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2006 Honda Accord driven by an unknown person had been traveling southbound in the 2100 block of Candlewood . The Honda lost traction, spun, crossed the center line, struck a curb on the east side of Candlewood and then struck a fire hydrant.

The driver of the car ran from the scene before officers arrived.  EMS transported a passenger, Aniah Robbins, 18, of Manhattan to Via Christi for treatment of a leg injury.  The RCPD released no additional details.
